How is this different from a religious funeral? Yardena is focused on customizing the service to your loved one and your family and friends. No two services are alike. This service is dedicated to memorializing the significance of your loved one to you, your family, and your friends and colleagues. Religious services focus primarily on God and the role of faith in our lives. Celebrant services focus specifically on who your loved one was and the impact he or she had on family, friends and the community. Can I incorporate religious observances into the celebrant service? Absolutely. Yardena will work with you to design exactly the kind of service you want for your loved one, including any prayers, readings or hymns you would like to see included. Can I have both a celebrant and a traditional religious service? Certainly. That is what a Celebration of Life is for. That way you can have a personalized tribute conducted during or toward the end of calling hours or incorporated into a church service. Why a "certified" civil funeral celebrant? The certification assures that Yardena has been specifically trained to design a personalized funeral service, weaving together the stories, songs, experiences and essence that define your loved one. How much will it cost? Yardena or your funeral director will work with you on your specific needs. Yardena will spend on average 12-15 hours on the service or tribute, between meeting with you and your family, writing the service and delivering it. Fees generally range from $300-$500.
